English Camp #2 at D'Bamboo Kamp: A Journey Towards Sustainability

D'Bamboo Kamp once again became the center of learning and adventure with the successful hosting of English Camp #2 at 21-23 June 2024, themed Sustainability. This inspiring three-day, two-night event was a collaboration between D'Bamboo Kamp, Politeknik Bintan Cakrawala (PBC), and a Montessori teacher from Batam, bringing fun learning to young participants from Bintan, Tanjungpinang, Batam, and Pekanbaru aged 10 to 17 years old.

A Meaningful Learning Experience
The camp was packed with engaging and educational activities designed to foster environmental awareness and hands-on learning. Participants took part in a Water Purification Experiment, where they learned about clean water filtration methods, emphasizing the importance of water sustainability. Nature Walks offered a chance to explore the rich biodiversity of Bintan’s natural landscape, while Nature Talks with WWF provided valuable insights into wildlife conservation and ecosystem preservation.

One of the highlights of the event was the Planting & Harvesting Sweet Potato activity, which allowed participants to experience sustainable farming practices firsthand. This was followed by an exciting Cooking Battle, where campers prepared dishes using freshly harvested ingredients, showcasing both their creativity and teamwork.

The event also featured Mr. Wayan, representing D'Bamboo Kamp, who served as a key speaker, sharing insights on sustainability and experiential learning.
The camp was honored to have distinguished guests, including Mr. Adam Paul Brunet, a native speaker from the UK, who conducted interactive sessions to enhance participants' English communication skills. His presence provided an immersive learning experience, making language learning both fun and practical.

Adding to the significance of the event, Bintan Island Vice Regent, Mr. Ahdi Muqsith, graced the occasion, showing his support for youth education and environmental sustainability. Representatives from WWF also joined to share their expertise on conservation efforts and sustainability practices.
